Happy Birthday Julee

Happy Birthday to Julee, our youngest. We are privileged to be your parents. You have brought us great joy and fond memories. You are living a good life and are a fine example as a daughter, a wife and a mother. It is hard to believe that 29 years have passed. Don’t blink. Enjoy every minute as you raise your children. It is amazing how fast it all goes. One minute it seemed like I would always have a houseful of children and the next minute they have families of their own. We love you so very much. Here is a poem my mom and I have always enjoyed because it reminds of us of how precious every moment is.

Sunrise, Sunset

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older
When did they?

When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he get to be so tall?

Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

What words of wisdom can I give them?
How can I help to ease their way?

Now they must learn from one another

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

thank you so much. that poem is great but makes me a little sad. It already feels like Ayden is growing too fast. Thank you for being such great parent and examples. I have always been greatful that I have both of you as parents.
